Sobeira A. Guillen, LCSW-R, BCD

Sobeira A. Guillen was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, and raised in Harlem, New York City, and identifies as an Afro Caribbean, cisgender female. She has over 30 years of experience in education, social work and mental health. Mrs. Guillen has been in private practice for over 15 years. She works with adolescents and adults with complex trauma further aggravated by immigration, oppression, chronic community deprivation, violence and discrimination. Sobeira uses a culture-centered approach to practice – respecting and working with the values, beliefs systems and practices important to individuals. She is trained in CBT Trauma, EMDR, IFS Level 1, and is a Certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist, Certification Coach, and Consultant in Training.
